Beyond Division: Meditation and Social Justice
September 14, 2019 3:30-4:45pm
Training Institute for Mental Health

How can sitting down to meditate translate into standing up for what's right and taking action in our lives and communities? In these fractured and divisive times, how can we come together to work toward healing the collective trauma in our hearts and bodies?

In this Meditation Lab, we will practice body-centered techniques to help us build a foundation for manifesting the leadership we want to see in the world. The session will include exercises to support us in taking refuge within, as well as prompts for discussion to encourage us to find ways of being proactive in addressing inequity, oppression, and suffering in the world.

Beginners and experienced meditators are invited to join us. There is a fee of $10 for this event that supports TI and instructor time; however please note that for those unable to pay for any reason, the fee will be waived.

If you can't make it this time, please join us for one of our other upcoming gatherings. This season, Meditation Labs will also be held October 12th, November 9th, and December 14th. Stay tuned for more info!
