In our commitment to inviting, holding, and expanding conversations about social justice, anti-racism, and diversity, we have launched SUSTAINING DIALOGUES, a monthly discussion group at TIMH. Please join us for our next meeting on April 3, 5:15pm-6:30pm.

This session will focus on the attached letter of apology to the LGBTQ+ community, issued by APA’s Division 39. How is it to be the recipient of an apology of this nature? When an apology is owed, how can a person or organization skillfully and unflinchingly take responsibility for their actions or inactions? We will explore the need for (as well as potential inadequacies of) apologies in the context of mental health, privilege, heteronormativity, bias, structural racism, white supremacy, etc.

Mental health professionals and students are welcome to participate in these monthly discussions. We acknowledge that initiating conversations is only the beginning of this process, and we commit to doing the work required to take necessary action in our field and communities.

To RSVP, please click here. For more information, please email jamielacy.timh@gmail.com. We will send a Zoom link as the date approaches.
