This inter-active workshop will provide a brief overview of world-renowned scientist John Gottman’s most ground breaking couples research, theories, and assessment strategies,  as well as provide a interventions, tools and some practical application exercises.


WORKSHOP #2 – WORKING WITH HIGH CONFLICT COUPLES
Friday, February 16th

15 minute – Warm Up / Warming up clients

    2. De-escalation/Flooding

    3. Dreams within Conflict exercise

  2. Repair

This workshop will take a deep dive into the world conflict management, with a sharp focus on emotional flooding, de-escalation strategies, and creating healthy boundaries.  


WORKSHOP # 3 – THE FALLOUT OF AFFAIRS
Saturday, March 16th

  1. Monogamy, Trust, vs Distrust & Infidelity

    1. Random facts about affairs

    2. Current theories

  2. Gottman’s 3 Phases of Treatment; Atonement, Attunement, and Attachment

  3. Improv Therapy -Case Scenarios / Closing Go Round.

This workshop explores several theories around Monogamy and trust vs Infidelity and distrust, as well as Gottman’s 3 compelling phases of treatment - atonement, attunement and attachment along with practical application, tips and tools.

KELLEY J. BROWER, LMHC, CFRC While she was a freelance artist in the entertainment world for over 30 years, at the crack of her 40's, she worked as a volunteer peer counselor for the LGBTQ community which led her to Hunter College for a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. Specializing in Couples and Relationship therapy, Kelley completed all 3 levels of The Gottman Couples Therapy training and has been working with couples of all sizes, shapes and colors for the last 8 years. As a Therapist, Coach, and Couples Counselor, Kelley believes that when creativity and humor are blended with hard science, they can not only be powerful therapeutic tools, but can also bring joy & laughter into the psychological journey.
