Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a depathologizing therapy modality, centered around the multiplicity of all humans, the innate capacity of people to heal from even the most terrible traumas, and the belief and evidence that there are no "bad parts". This workshop will provide an introduction and overview of IFS, covering key concepts of the theory as well as a description of the role and methods of the IFS therapist in facilitating healing in clients.
By the end of this clinical continuing education activity, participants will be able to:
1. Describe key concepts in Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory
2. Describe the unique role of the IFS therapist
3. Identify and describe methods used by IFS therapists in treating clients
4. Identify the IFS steps toward healing

Matt Singer, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist in private practice in Brooklyn. Matt is trained in Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS, Level 2) and is a graduate of the Training Institute for Mental Health’s (TIMH) Psychoanalysis program. In addition to providing psychotherapy for individuals and couples, Matt has also served as a program assistant in IFS Institute Trainings, and he has taught classes at TIMH.
